I initially thought £90 for a shaver - Blimey (!)

My old Braun gave up after about 7 years of daily use. I thought it's performance was pretty good, but those German boffins have truly surpassed themselves with this product. It looks and feels very well made. The shaving foil must have been sourced from NASA and the shear precision of the triple cutter system removes with ease every single one of those annoying "grow in any random direction" hairs in the under chin area.

Blink and its fully charged! I'm on my 12th day and it shows no sign of running out of juice. Great aesthetic appeal, but also thoughtfully designed with extremely grippy blue rubber in all the right places, no matter how the shaver is held.

Do you get what you pay for? Definately!

I bought this model to replace a Braun 4000 series shaver and couldn't believe the difference. The 5875 gives a much closer and more comfortable shave and the foils don't develop the holes which meant I was changing the foil for the 400 every 6 months or so. The razor burn I regularly got with the 4000 is minimal with the 5875. I also noticed that the bits that do the shaving, the foil and cutters, are the same on all shavers in a given Braun range. So you might as well get the 5874 and save £10.

I have wet shaved for years and thought I would like to return to an electric shaver. I spent ages looking at different shavers and deciding whether to go for heads or foil. I liked the look of heads and was taking customer reviews into account. I decided to get Remington as the brand was highly recommeneded (although those that bought Phillips said they would return to Remington and Vice Versa). However when I received the razor which I spent a lot of money on, it was dreadful. It couldn't cut anything and I had to wet shave to finish off my beard and not look like a wolf!!! It gave me an awful rash and didn't do anything it said. I returned the shaver and decided to base my choice purely on reviews (the Remington had had average reviews but I love gadgets and it looked really modern and advanced). The best razor in terms of reviews and in my price range was this Braun. I decided that if it had made 6 people so happy, it must be doing something right. I therefore sacrificed my desire for something that looked like it had been made by NASA and had lots of gizmo's. I received the shaver today and used it for the first time tonight. I thought I would give it a real test as I had a weeks beard growth. I cannto believe how amazing it actually is. On my face, the foil shaver gave me a smooth finish in 5 minutes, no pain, no rash and got rid of those annoying hairs that you cannot normally get rid of and grow in every direction. Excellent for under the nose, got rid of all the hairs and right up in the hard to get too areas. I used the long hair trimmer on my neck first and then finished off with the foils. It took a while, but expected this with so much growth. I didn't have to use a razor at all and it has given an amazing smooth finish. My fiance can't stop running her hands over my face now. Will shave more often with this, definetely has the LYNX effect!!! I have a very thick beard but this did more that the job. I feel like a new man (especially now my fiance wants to touch me again and I don't give her a rash now either). This has to be the best shaver going. Forget all gadgets and NASA technology, this shaver is the best going and can't recommend it highly enough.
